American Reprographics Company (NYSE: ARP), the nation's leading provider of reprographics services and technology, today announced a joint marketing venture with KIP America, a leading manufacturer of printing and imaging technology for the architectural, engineering and manufacturing industries.
Under the new joint marketing venture, KIP will offer ARC's MetaPrint print and imaging management software through its extensive sales channel in North America. MetaPrint software has been integrated with KIP IPS systems to provide high-demand users with maximum versatility and to enhance the ability of on-site services providers of KIP equipment to communicate with their customer base.
Joe Abeyesinhe, Vice President of Procurement for American Reprographics, said, "We are pleased that KIP America has recognized MetaPrint's ability to improve AEC document workflow and incorporated it into its product offering. Combining our robust products with KIP's well established and proven North American sales force is a winning combination for both companies."
Steve Kozle, IPS Product Manager for KIP America, stated, "The integration of MetaPrint with the complete range of KIP IPS Systems provides significant benefits for decentralized printing environments. With the full integration of MetaPrint, KIP IPS systems can deliver an even more powerful full range of professional printing and print management features."
MetaPrint uses standard, non-proprietary digital file formats. The remote client version of the software transmits jobs which can be printed on any output device and are not limited to a specific brand. Thus, when paired with KIP equipment, the bundled hardware/software fits well into a mixed production environment and retains all of the workflow productivity for the operators and clients.
Software development to improve document workflow in a large-format environment has been a strategic offering of American Reprographics Company since 2000 with its introduction of PlanWell(R) online planrooms. It remains a key focus of ARC's market strategy, and is a driver of its leadership in construction document management.
